Interview with Daniel
of Denison Marrs

Ward: There a certain style of music you would classify Denison Marrs as at the time of this new album?

Daniel: Not really, probably just rock would be the closest to where we think we are.

Ward: Is there a story or common theme expressed on the new album?

Daniel: Most of what we have tried to do is themed in some form or fashion, the new album is more about an introspective look at the band, our purpose, our struggle, and our demise.

Ward: Often a self-titled album is a first record. Is there a reason for the new album being self-titled this late in the bands history?

Daniel: I think mostly the album because self titled because of what the album was about, Denison Marrs.

Ward: What were some of the influences that went into the album? Any new inspirations that were not around on the previous recordings?

Daniel: We wanted to do more of a rock record going in, we got a new drummer before the recording of this record so his raw feel for our music was an inspiration of how it turned out.

Ward: What led to the guest vocals on the album?

Daniel: Through our career we've met lots of friends and disappointingly enough we've never really done as much as we should have for them. It was just something we should have been doing all along.

Ward: How do you feel this album is similar and or different to those previous and is there anything you think could surprise long time fans?

Daniel: With what ever we have done musically, we've always had the Denison Marrs sound that is very prevalent on the new album but with a much darker side of it. A major difference for fans who came from the last poppy and upbeat album.

Ward: One common theme being pointed out in today is music is that of a positive vibe. Would you say Denison Marrs is part of that trend on the new album?

Daniel: Not really. I don't believe we've been a part of any trends. Our lyrics have always had a more positive vibe, no matter what the current trends have been.

Ward: One question I have to ask at the risk of being hated is that of the future of the band. Rumors have been flying since Then Is The New Now was released that Denison Marrs would not be doing a new album and the rumors have now came attached to the self-titled. Can you shed any light as to what the future may hold for Denison Marrs and its members?

Daniel: Rumors have always been a great part of any bands career. Denison Marrs has been on a long road that has lead to many different areas, some good and some bad. Whether we're on that final road still needs to be decided by the road we travel, not by the rumors spread.
